Students determined to keep our roads safe

Road traffic deaths and injuries are a national crisis, which has reached alarming proportions in Namibia.

During the Easter weekend, one of the periods where sharp increases in road traffic accidents are experienced, Rebecca Harases approached her fellow Masters in Logistics and Supply Chain classmates at NUST, to part take in a road safety campaign. This was aimed at raising awareness amongst truck and private motor vehicle operators. The campaign entailed giving out over 300 sweet treats such as Easter eggs and chocolates with various road safety notes attached to them. Rebecca says the logistics industry has a vital role to play in ensuring road safety, and ultimately nation building.
