Nurturing Entreprenurial Mindsets
The Faculty of Commerce, Human Sciences, and Education partnered with the university’s Technology Transfer Unit, under the Directorate of Research, Innovation, and Partnerships (DRIP), to launch two pioneering initiatives: the Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship (ICE712S) course and the Practical Innovation Programme (PIP).
ICE-PIP emphasises entrepreneurial skills development, particularly in business modeling, and is seamlessly integrated into NUST’s ICE course offering.
This programme exemplifies NUST’s commitment to advancing the goals of the European-Union-funded UNIICo-create Project, which envisions empowering students to become job creators rather than job seekers - nurturing a vibrant and diverse community of innovative entrepreneurial thinkers.
Building on this momentum, NUST is also preparing to host its inaugural Entrepreneurship Conference and Small Business Exhibition in September 2025.
The conference, themed “Entrepreneurship Development and Sustainability,” will receive support from UNIICo-create partners. Stay tuned for upcoming calls for partnerships and abstract submissions.
Ms Bernice Ndungaua, a Business Management Lecturer in the Faculty emphasised that “we want our graduates to be industry-ready, but also confident enough to launch something of their own, no matter what they studied.”
Through initiatives like ICE-PIP, NUST continues to champion an inclusive and practical approach to education ensuring that every graduate, regardless of their field, leaves empowered to create, innovate, and lead.
