Amidst a backdrop of anticipation and enthusiasm, the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) welcomed students, faculty members, and staff to its official opening ceremony for 2024. With a fusion of inspiration, talent, and community spirit, the event took place on Friday, 9 February 2024, marking the beginning of a new chapter in NUST's journey towards academic excellence and societal impact.
The event’s keynote speaker was Mr Moses Matyayi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the City of Windhoek and a revered NUST alumnus. Matyayi shared his journey with the eager audience. His words, infused with passion and purpose, resonated deeply as he imparted the timeless wisdom, "Craft your visions, for education is the ultimate equaliser." NUST Vice-Chancellor, Dr Erold Naomab emphasised the essence of preparation and opportunity in his address to the audience, "Opportunity loves preparation. Whether you find yourself in a classroom, laboratory, or any other aspect of life, always ask yourself: Am I prepared?" These words will guide the NUST community, emphasising the importance of readiness and commitment in seizing opportunities.
