Prof Sulaiman Olusegun Atiku, a researcher in Human Resource Management, from the University’s Harold Pupkewitz - Graduate School of Business (HP-GSB)

His ratings have gone up!

...Prof Atiku is an NRF C2 rated researcher

Prof Sulaiman Olusegun Atiku, a researcher in Human Resource Management, from the University’s Harold Pupkewitz - Graduate School of Business (HP-GSB) has achieved an NRF C2 rating. The recognition is courtesy of the South Africa’s National Research Foundation (NRF).

Why does this matter?

The NRF rating system is a rigorous peer-reviewed evaluation that recognises researchers based on the quality and impact of their work. Moreover, a C2 rating signifies that Prof Atiku is an established researcher with a sustained record of productivity, whose scholarly contributions are well-recognised by peers. This rating also confirms that while some of his research enjoys international recognition, all reviewers are firmly convinced of his standing as a leading scholar in his field. “Having an NRF C2-rated researcher within the institution instils confidence among postgraduate students, as they benefit from the teaching and supervision of an internationally recognised faculty member, which is also beneficial to the HP-GSB and NUST at large,” Prof Atiku elaborated.

AI and HR

“A key area of my research interest is exploring how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be leveraged to advance Sustainable Human Resource Management Practices and develop responsible business solutions. With the integration AI into Human Resource Management practices, we can uncover innovative ways to improve efficiency, equity, and sustainability in workforce management,” he explained.

Prof Atiku’s rating is valid from 01 January 2025 to 31 December 2030, after which he will be eligible for re-evaluation. This milestone underscores NUST’s growing research reputation and highlights the calibre of academics driving excellence within the institution
