Research and Postgraduate Development Centre

The Namibia University of Science and Technology is pleased to officially introduce the “NUST Postgraduate Development Centre (NUST-PGDC)” under the Directorate for Research, Innovation and Partnerships. The Centre will work in close collaboration with Faculties and key Departments across the University.

The Centre brings together postgraduate students from all Faculties, encouraging multi and transdisciplinary disciplinary research and innovation, transcending disciplines, in line with the University’s Strategic Plan (2021-2025). The main objective is to provide a one-stop-information hub supporting postgraduate student development.

Ensuring collaboration of academic staff with support units, including the Library and Student Services, to develop and support postgraduate students (PhD and Masters) and researchers (inclusive of postdoctoral and visiting researchers); 

Identifying funding and networking opportunities; 

 

Coordinating capacity-building support through existing Faculty programmes and activities such as seminars, webinars, winter schools, summer schools, writing workshops etc.; 
Coordinating research outputs in close collaboration with the Library and Faculties to ensure research footprint visibility; 
Facilitate joint research collaborations between postgraduate students (including supervisors) and industry, government, and communities; 
Developing policy guidelines that ensure high levels of postgraduate research dissemination and value addition are aligned with institutional, national and international strategies and activities, amongst others. 

 

 

 

 

 

The Centre is housed on the 6th floor of the High- Tech Transfer Plaza Select (HTTPS) Building, a landmark multi-million dollar state-of-the-art knowledge and innovative hub, that offers a conducive integrated ecosystem for sustainable technology transfer and inventions. 

The HTTPS also provides networking zones for postgraduates and research associates with creative spaces, overlooking panoramic views of the local landscapes.
