Peter Haufiku

Haufiku is a FIFA-registered Football Agent

Peter Haufiku, a Sports Management lecturer, stepped into a new chapter when he took up the role as a licensed FIFA-registered football agent. He credits the environment at NUST for strengthening both his credibility and confidence in navigating these spaces. “Lecturers are often viewed as thought leaders because they combine academic knowledge with industry insight,” he says.

His role as a football agent entails operating within the global football ecosystem, supporting athlete representation and engagement within the sport’s international governance structures.

Although he will soon be concluding his time at the university, after five years of service, Haufiku says his experience at NUST shaped the way he approaches leadership. “Being a NUSTodian has instilled a deep sense of responsibility within him to contribute meaningfully to society. Working with students taught me that leadership is not only about authority, but about empowering others and creating opportunities for growth.”

He holds an MBA Master’s Degree in Sports Management Escuela Universitaria Real Madrid Universidad Europea. Next on the horizon for Haufiku is a PhD in Sports Entrepreneurship with a focus on developing sustainable and innovative models that can help professionalise and grow the sports industry in Namibia and across Africa. The world is his oyster!
