The Department: Corporate Engagement and Internationalisation proudly presents the first ever Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) International Staff Training Week. This event promises delegates an opportunity to visit culturally diverse Namibia and participate in a weeklong series of networking and professional development sessions.

The NUST International Staff Training Week is a premier event designed to foster professional growth and international collaboration. Scheduled from 04 – 08 November 2024, this week-long programme offers a unique platform for academic and administrative staff to exchange knowledge, share best practices and build lasting relations. Our training week will challenge you to leave your comfort zone,and will broaden your understanding of and skills in intercultural competence, diversity and inclusivity.

Participants can expect:

Structure of the International Staff Week

The International Staff Training Week is designed to maximise learning, interaction and networking. The programme includes:

  • Workshops: Interactive sessions covering various aspects of intercultural competence.
  • Seminars: In-depth presentations and discussions on the intercultural communication, and the impact of culture and social norms on leadership.
  • Networking Events: Social gathering and collaborative session for foster international connections and partnerships.
  • Cultural Activities: Guided tours and cultural events to explore Namibia’s unique heritage and natural beauty.
  • Independent Track: Tailored meeting(s) with counterpart department / unit.

 

The structured yet flexible programme ensures that participants gain both professional knowledge and cultural enrichment.

International Staff Training Week Programme

Participation Costs

The participation fee for the International Staff Training Week is €200.00 (Two Hundred Euros). This fee includes:

  • Access to all workshops, seminars and networking events.
  • Certificate of Attendance
  • A Welcome Kit
  • All coffee breaks
  • Lunch on 3 of the 5 days
  • Welcome Reception
  • Sundowner & Farewell Dinner
  • Tour of Windhoek City & Township

Please note that accommodation and travel expenses, and two cultural excursions are not included in the participation fee. This activity is eligible for Erasmus+ funding. Therefore, If your institution has an Erasmus+ KA171 Inter Institutional Agreement for Student and Staff mobility with NUST, we would encourage use of such funding.

Registration and Requirements

To register for the NUST International Staff Training Week 2024, please complete the Online Registration by no later than 12pm (noon) on Sunday, 01 September 2024. Early registration is essential as spaces are limited.

Requirement for participation:

  • The International Staff Training Week is open all junior and senior academic or administrative staff members of our partner and prospective partner universities.
  • There is no maximum limit on the number of participants we can receive from each university. However, due to limited spaces available we may cap the number of participants per university to ensure broader representation.
  • Attendance for the full programme is required.
  • Upon successful completion of the online registration, participants will be required to make an upfront Registration Fee payment of €200.00 (TWO HUNDRED EUROS) to confirm participation in the International Staff Week.
