HPGSB and VEYA Drive Namibia’s Digital Future with SAP Academy
The Harold Pupkewitz Graduate School of Business (HPGSB), in partnership with VEYA ICT, officially launched the Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing (SAP) Education and Training Academy in Namibia on 29 October 2025 on campus.
The launch brought together representatives from academia, industry, and government, underscoring the importance of collaboration in advancing Namibia’s digital transformation agenda. Delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, Mr Knox Otto Imbuwa emphasised the national value of the initiative, stating: “I am very confident that Namibians, in various capacities, will gain access to world-class training and certification in areas such as data analytics, business processes, and systems management”.
Echoing this sentiment, Dr Erling Kavita, Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Teaching, Learning and Technology, highlighted the importance of academia and industry partnerships in building the nation’s capacity for innovation.
“At NUST, we see ourselves not only as educators but as catalysts for innovation and national progress. This initiative underscores our commitment to empowering a new generation of digital leaders capable of shaping Namibia’s future,” he said.
Through this partnership, the University aims to strengthen SAP training and certification in Namibia, positioning the country as a regional hub for SAP education in the near future.
In an era defined by rapid technological advancement, initiatives such as the SAP Academy reinforce NUST’s commitment to developing digital competencies and equipping Namibians with the skills needed to thrive in a technology-driven global economy.
The SAP Training and Certification programmes will be offered under the HPGSB ICT Training and Certification Unit.
