Description
The Bachelor of Human-Computer Interaction Honours aims to provide an advanced educational opportunity for students who wish to further their studies by specialising in Human-Computer Interaction, an interdisciplinary subject.
The programme equips students with the necessary skills and knowledge to create appropriate interactive systems and user experiences. It provides students with advanced knowledge, skills, and competencies required for the design, implementation, and evaluation of interactive computer-based technology.
Graduates are enabled to address Human-Computer Interaction challenges and opportunities for local and global digital transformation in the Fifth Industrial Revolution. This explicitly emphasises a human-centric perspective of emerging technologies, which requires specific knowledge acquired throughout the programme.
The programme further equips students with 21st-century learning skills—namely critical thinking, creative thinking, communication, and collaboration—using a project-based learning approach in close partnership with private and public sectors to ensure the development of relevant solutions and research.
Overall, the programme aims to:
- Provide students with advanced knowledge of concepts, theories, and frameworks in the field of Human-Computer Interaction.
- Equip students with theoretical and practical skills in Human-Computer Interaction technologies, techniques, and methods.
- Ensure that students become mindful and responsible technology designers who consider social and ecological impacts.
- Enable students to anticipate local, regional, and global trends in future technologies.
