PUBLIC RELATIONS EXPERT: THEN AND NOW

Shoki Kandjimi obtained his Bachelor of Journalism and Media Technology, soon thereafter acquired Bachelor of Communications (Honours) in 2019.

“My experience at NUST was empowering and zealous, since I was exposed me to so much in the media and communication industry. I managed to get internship at a newspaper and various public relations firms. One of my highlight at NUST was when I worked at NUST FM as a Communications Manager and a presenter on the Breakfast Show, The Crunch. I enjoyed every moment of my journey at NUST FM.”

At NUST FM I was tasked to manage the communications and programming of the radio station. This enabled me to connect with internal and external stakeholders. I become a better leader who was able to negotiate, network and work with stakeholders and implement campaigns and projects,.

Moreover, I had the privilege of being the Director of Ceremony for NUST’s Spring Graduation in 2019. This was the first time in NUST history for students to host an event of this magnitude. This has contributed to my public speaking skills.

All of these opportunities and engagements groomed me as a media and communications practitioner. Today, I am an experienced and recognised practitioner that play a vital role at the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology.
