Crystal Prestige: A Celebration of Brilliance, Excellence, and Achievement
Last night, we proudly hosted our Academic Awards Ceremony under the inspiring theme: “Crystal Prestige: A Celebration of Brilliance, Excellence, and Achievement.”
The evening celebrated more than academic excellence; it honoured the discipline, resilience, determination, and intellectual curiosity that continue to define the NUST student community.
Delivering remarks on behalf of the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof Andrew Niikondo, Dr Onesmus Shuungula, Executive Dean for the Faculty of Health, Natural Resources and Applied Sciences, reminded attendees that the evening was not only about celebrating academic achievement, but also about honouring the stories behind the success, stories of perseverance, growth, and excellence.

Among the outstanding achievers recognised were:
Ndapunikwa Hamunyela — Merit Award recipient as Best Honours Student in Bachelor of Economics, graduating cum laude.
Kristine Haidula — recognised as the Best Postgraduate Student in the Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education, graduating cum laude.
Ndaamakunye Simeon — Merit Award recipient as Best Honours Student in Bachelor of Informatics Honours (Business Informatics), graduating cum laude.
Ndatega Dusanca Mbaile — Bachelor of Human Nutrition student and recipient of a scholarship from Grandview Klein Diamond Group, recognised as the Best Fourth Year Student in her cohort.
Johannes Natangwe — Bachelor of Computing Science in Cyber Security student, honoured with the Performance Award for being the Best Ethical Hacker.
The ceremony also celebrated two exceptional NUST staff members who crossed the stage as award recipients:
Dimbulukeni Nauyoma, Assistant Faculty Officer, recognised as the Best Student in the Postgraduate Diploma in Development Finance programme after previously being awarded Best Honours Student in Business Management.
Prof Asa Romeo Asa, Director of NUST’s Namibian-German Centre for Logistics, recently recognised nationally as Mid-Career Researcher of the Year, and now awarded as the Best Student in the Master of Logistics and Supply Chain Management programme.

Delivering the keynote address, John Haufiku, Chief Corporate Affairs at the Motor Vehicle Accident Fund, motivated students with a powerful reflection on the realities of the professional world, encouraging them not only to pursue success, but also to become individuals of strong character, integrity, and purpose as they prepare to enter the job market.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all the sponsors who came on board to support this prestigious event, for without their valued contributions and partnership, the Academic Awards Ceremony would not have been possible.
Congratulations to all the award recipients for embodying the spirit of excellence and inspiring the next generation of leaders, innovators, and changemakers.
