International Staff Week
The NUST International Partners Week is an event designed to foster professional growth and international collaboration. Scheduled for 02 to 06 November 2026, this week-long programme offers academic and administrative staff a unique platform to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and build lasting relationships. The training week will challenge you to step outside your comfort zone, broadening your understanding of, and skills in, intercultural competence, diversity, and inclusivity.
Participants can expect:
- Interactive workshops on intercultural communication, covering cultural awareness, communication styles, and practical strategies for engaging diverse international partners.
- Hands-on sessions on AI and digital tools for International Office operations, from culturally sensitive drafting and translation to partner benchmarking and MoU tracking.
- Strategic sessions on digital innovation and global partnership-building, connecting current trends in the internationalisation of higher education to real institutional practice.
- A dedicated session on ethics, compliance, and duty of care in international mobility, including crisis-readiness and adaptive response planning for mobility disruptions.
- A closing showcase day for participants to present their own institutional context and reflect on how the series applies to their work, alongside peer learning and networking.
This event is an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills, broaden your perspectives, and contribute to the global academic community.
Structure of the International Partners Week
The International Partners Training Week is designed to maximise learning, interaction and networking. The programme includes:
- Workshops: Interactive sessions covering various aspects of intercultural competence, including cultural awareness, digital tools for international office operations, strategic partnership-building, and ethics and crisis readiness in international mobility.
- Seminars: In-depth presentations and discussions on intercultural communication, and the impact of culture and social norms on leadership.
- Networking Events: Social gatherings and collaborative sessions to foster international connections and partnerships.
- Cultural Activities: Guided tours and cultural events to explore Namibia's unique heritage and natural beauty.
- Independent Track: Tailored meeting(s) with counterpart department / unit.
The structured yet flexible programme ensures that participants gain both professional knowledge and cultural enrichment.
Participation Costs
The participation fee for the International Partners Training Week is €240.00 (Two Hundred and Forty Euros). This fee includes:
- Access to all workshops, seminars and networking events.
- Certificate of Attendance

- Lunch on 2 of the 5 days
- Welcome Reception
- Sundowner & Farewell Dinner
- Tour of Windhoek City & Township
Please note that accommodation and travel expenses, and cultural excursion are not included in the participation fee. This activity is eligible for Erasmus+ funding. Therefore, If your institution has an Erasmus+ KA171 Inter Institutional Agreement for Student and Staff mobility with NUST, we would encourage use of such funding.
Registration and Requirements
To register for the NUST International Partners Training Week 2026, please complete the Online Registration by no later than 12pm (noon) on Monday, 31 August 2026. Early registration is essential as spaces are limited.
Requirement for participation:
- The International Partners Training Week is open all junior and senior academic or administrative staff members of our partner and prospective partner universities.
- There is no maximum limit on the number of participants we can receive from each university. However, due to limited spaces available we may cap the number of participants per university to ensure broader representation.
- Attendance for the full programme is required.
- Upon successful completion of the online registration, participants will be required to make an upfront Registration Fee payment of €240.00 (TWO HUNDRED FORTY EUROS) to confirm participation in the International Partners Training Week.
