NUST Shines at AdaptIT’s 40-Year Excellence Gala
When excellence meets innovation, recognition follows. NUST brought a touch of Namibian pride to Johannesburg, walking away with four prestigious awards at AdaptIT’s 40-Year Excellence Gala, celebrating both individual achievement and the University’s contribution to advancing higher education technology.
Leading the celebrations was Juanita Frans, Business Systems and Processes Manager, who received two individual honours. She was named Outstanding ITS Professional, recognising her exceptional leadership, technical expertise and longstanding contribution to the regional ITS user ecosystem, including her years of service as Chair of the ITS Integrator User Group Conference. “I received a second accolade, Excellence in Higher Education Administration, in recognition of my role in strengthening institutional processes, driving innovation and improving data integrity at NUST,” she elaborated.
The University also had reason to celebrate, securing the Innovation in Education Technology Award for its effective use of integrated systems to enhance institutional operations and support teaching and learning.
Adding to the University's achievements was the Legacy Partnership Award, recognising its longstanding relationship with AdaptIT, which spans four decades. Through this partnership, NUST has relied on AdaptIT’s Integrated Tertiary Software (ITS) system, a critical platform underpinning the University's core business processes and supporting its day-to-day operations. “Over the years, NUST has emerged as a trendsetter in the implementation and use of the ITS system in Namibia, serving as a benchmark and a 'lighthouse' for institutions beyond its borders,” highlighted Laurent Evrard, Digital Transformation Business Services Director.
Among the distinguished guests at the gala was Jeff Radebe, former South African Cabinet Minister and Robben Island political prisoner, who joined other attendees in celebrating the achievements recognised during the evening.
The four awards reflect the people, partnerships and expertise driving institutional excellence. The recognition is a proud moment for NUST and a testament to what sustained collaboration, innovation and dedication can achieve.
