NUST Students Prepare for European Exchange Through Erasmus+
Nineteen students from the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) participated in an Erasmus+ Pre-Departure Event for students preparing to undertake international mobility programmes in Europe during the semester commencing in September 2026.
The event was hosted by the Office of the Ambassador of the European Union to Namibia, Her Excellency Ana Beatriz Martins, at her official residence in Windhoek. The engagement provided students with an opportunity to receive guidance ahead of their international study experience and to connect with fellow students preparing for mobility.
Overall, NUST is sending 28 students to participate in exchange programmes at partner universities across Germany, Spain, Austria and Hungary, undertaking studies at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The host institutions include FH Joanneum (Austria); Hochschule RheinMain, TU Bergakademie Freiberg and the University of Stuttgart (Germany); Eszterházy Károly Catholic University (Hungary); and the University of La Laguna (Spain).
The Erasmus+ mobility programme forms an important part of NUST’s internationalisation agenda, providing students with opportunities to gain international academic exposure, develop intercultural competencies and broaden their global perspectives through study and research abroad.
Beyond academic learning, the exchange experience enables students to build international networks, develop greater independence and adaptability, and gain exposure to different academic and cultural environments. The students will also serve as ambassadors of NUST and Namibia during their time abroad.
