NUST Partners with Manipal University Jaipur
A new international partnership is opening doors to greater academic collaboration, research and knowledge exchange between Namibia and India. The Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) and Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ), India, have formalised their commitment to strengthening academic cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), creating opportunities for collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
The partnership will primarily support collaborative initiatives within NUST’s Faculty of Computing and Informatics, with a focus on advancing knowledge, research and innovation.
NUST Vice-Chancellor, Prof Frednard Gideon, said the partnership would provide opportunities for the University to access advanced technologies, expertise and knowledge from India, while creating a platform for meaningful academic and research exchange.
President of MUJ, Prof Niti Nipun Sharma, underscored the importance of the MoU in creating opportunities for students, researchers and academic staff from both institutions to exchange knowledge, expertise and innovative ideas.

The agreement provides a framework for cooperation in academic exchange, research, teaching, training and innovation. Areas of collaboration include the exchange of faculty members, researchers and students; joint teaching and training programmes; collaborative research projects and publications; curriculum development; joint conferences, workshops and seminars; and collaborative grant applications.
The partnership marks another step in NUST’s efforts to expand its international academic networks, strengthen research capacity and promote innovation. It is expected to create valuable opportunities for academic mobility, knowledge sharing and capacity building, benefiting students and staff at both institutions.
