HP-GSB Brings Leaders Together to Advance Customer Care and Service Delivery

NUST’s Harold Pupkewitz Graduate School of Business (HP-GSB), in partnership with Tulip Media, successfully hosted the Namibia Customer Care and Effective Service Delivery Conference. Held under the theme, “Restoring Our Namibian Pride in Service Excellence,” the conference brought together leaders from government, academia, industry, state-owned enterprises and the private sector to explore practical strategies for enhancing customer experience and service delivery across Namibia.

Delivering the keynote address, Hon Lucia Iipumbu, Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security, commended NUST and HP-GSB for creating a national platform dedicated to advancing service standards. “Service delivery is not a peripheral administrative matter; it is central to national development, institutional credibility, economic competitiveness and public trust,” she stated.

Speaking on behalf of the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof Andrew Niikondo, NUST Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Teaching, Learning and Technology, Prof Teresia Kaulihowa, highlighted the critical role of service excellence in driving institutional effectiveness and national development.

The event featured presentations and interactive panel discussions focusing on leadership, customer-centric cultures, technology, organisational accountability and restoring trust in public service. Executive leadership insights were delivered by Franziska Rüeck, Chief Experience Officer at O&L Group; and Tega Shiimi ya Shiimi, Chief Executive Officer of SanlamAllianz Investments, who underscored the importance of visionary leadership, organisational culture and innovation in fostering service excellence.

“The conference provided a valuable platform for stakeholders from diverse sectors to exchange experiences, share best practices and collectively explore innovative solutions to service delivery challenges facing our country,” said Helena Shipanga, Senior Business Development Coordinator at HP-GSB and Deputy Chairperson of the organising committee.

The successful conference reaffirmed HP-GSB's commitment to advancing executive education and fostering collaborative initiatives that contribute to national development and service excellence across Namibia.
