Erasmus+ NUST Equals a World of International Opportunities
Under the European Union’s Erasmus+ initiative, NUST continues to strengthen its internationalisation agenda through active participation in staff mobility programmes. Recently, two NUST staff members participated in an International Staff Week hosted by WSB University in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland, from 18–22 May 2026. The mobility was facilitated by NUST’s International Relations office.
The programme brought together representatives from various institutions around the world, to engage in knowledge exchange aimed at advancing higher education practices, strengthening institutional partnerships, and promoting innovation in university operations.
Key discussions throughout the week covered a wide range of strategic themes, including video content creation for effective marketing strategies, leveraging on LinkedIn networks, and strengthening institutional reputation through international partnerships. Additional focus areas included resilience as a leadership competency and effective promotional strategies for universities in an increasingly competitive global environment.
Reflecting on the experience, Nadia Meding, a Multimedia Practitioner from the Corporate Engagement and Internationalisation Department, noted that, “The mobility was an enriching opportunity to sharpen my multimedia and storytelling skills while learning innovative ways to create more meaningful and engaging content for students.”
From an organisational development perspective, Senior Organisational Development and Learning Business Partner Russel Camm highlighted the value of the exchange, stating, “This experience offered valuable lessons in leadership development, workplace learning, and organisational effectiveness, while reinforcing the importance of adapting global best practices to our local context.” He further added that, “The knowledge gained through this mobility presents an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to staff development and support initiatives that enhance the overall employee experience at NUST.”
According to WSB University Academic Mobility Coordinator Gabriela Węglarz, the programme created “a valuable opportunity for mutual learning and benchmarking,” enabling meaningful exchanges across key areas of institutional development and global engagement.
Ultimately, the Erasmus+ Staff Week demonstrated the mutual benefit of international collaboration; strengthening institutional capacity, enhancing staff competencies, and deepening partnerships between NUST and European higher education institutions.
