Biography

Professor Teresia Kaulihowa is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Teaching and Learning and a Professor of Economics at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST). She is the first woman to attain the rank of Professor of Economics in Namibia, reflecting a career defined by scholarly excellence and transformative leadership. With over 16 years of experience, her work spans academia, policy advisory, and institutional stewardship, anchored in a deep commitment to knowledge as a driver of societal progress.

Prof Kaulihowa has held influential national and international leadership roles, including serving as Deputy Chairperson of the National Commission on Research, Science and Technology (NCRST) Board and as a Commissioner at the Namibian Competition Commission, where she has shaped strategic policy direction and strengthened regulatory frameworks.

Her global engagement includes serving as an Academic Board Member of the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) and the Chartered Institute of Development Finance. She also serves as an inaugural member of the Pan-African Scientific Research Council, where she continues to champion teaching, advance research excellence, and contribute to shaping Africa’s development trajectory.
