INP Pay Visit to NUST

A delegation from Angola’s National Institute of Petroleum (INP) paid a cross-border visit to the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) during April 2024 on a fact-finding mission.

A high-level team from NUST welcomed approximately 40 staff and students from Namibia’s northern neighbour, Angola, who visited the country on a mission to acquaint themselves with local higher education institutions. Their primary aim was to learn more about NUST’s academic offering, and the institution’s admission requirements.

NUST Deputy-Vice Chancellor: Teaching & Learning Technology, Dr Andrew Niikondo, led the host delegation and welcomed the visitors NUST. “We are honoured to receive such distinguished guests from north of our borders, and we hope to establish an enduring and mutually beneficial relationship,” he said. Dr Niikondo further expressed delight that the INP students were interested in NUST as an institution to further their studies.

The INP is based in the Cuanza Sul province, located on Angola’s central-west coast. It is a vocational school offering education and training programmes focussed on the oil, gas, and mining sector. The INP students that have made the journey to Namibia wish to pursue further academic study and have therefore sought out NUST.
