Representatives from the NUST Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences visited the Windhoek High School last month, to engage Grade 10 and 12 learners about the Emergency Medical Care Programme it offers. Graduates of this programme become qualified Advanced Life Support Practitioners (Paramedics), that are able to competently apply theoretical and practical clinical techniques. This is in order to independently provide emergency medical care to injured and/or ill patients, within the scope of practice stipulated by the Health Professions Council of Namibia (HPCNA).
