Professor Omotayo Awofolu is the sixth academic to receive a Certificate of Professorship at NUST. The Professorship title is conferred upon outstanding recipients in recognition of excellence in academic achievement including research, teaching and publication. Awofolu is a Professor of Environmental Health Sciences, in the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences. His research focus is in the areas of Analytical Methods Development, Monitoring and Assessment of Toxic Trace Metals in the Ecosystems and Application of Novel Remediation Techniques for the Removal of Toxic Trace Metals from Aqueous Systems. He has taught extensively since 1991 and his teaching career has taken him to five universities across three African countries, spanning over a period of 27 years. Prof Awofolu has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, including two book chapters and over 30 conference presentations.
