His Excellency Kumar Tuhin, the Indian High Commissioner to Namibia, led an inter-ministerial team from India during a visit to NUST in March 2017. The meeting focused on discussions regarding the establishment of a Centre of Excellence in IT (CEIT) on campus. This forms part of efforts to enhance cooperation in education between India and Namibia, the Indian government will establish a CEIT at NUST. The Namibian delegation consisted of Dr Alfred van Kent, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Training and Innovation, Dr Tjama Tjivikua, the NUST Vice-Chancellor, and Dr Anicia Peters, the Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Informatics. It is envisaged that the Centre will be established by the end of 2017.
